Kallio hunting for a podium in Argentina

The last GP-weekend in Austin offered some happy moments for Kallio and his team, by shedding some light on the team’s quest on finding their way with the new Kalex 2015 bike. Kallio was feeling a whole lot better during qualifying practice and even topped the timesheets in warm-up, but the race pace was still missing and after a huge fight he finally ended up on position 8.

The next upcoming race of the Moto2-class will take place in Argentina already this weekend, on the track of Las Termas de Rio Hondo. The bike, which was shipped directly from Austin to Argentina, will now continue its work with Kallio during the free practices of Friday.

-The bike arrived here directly from Texas just now, so we have been physically unable to change anything yet. We have done a lot of data analysis based on the the previous race in Austin and have also scrutinised carefully what was done here in Argentina a year ago. We have found both positive and negative effects resulting from changes we did last weekend, so we will merge all this data and try to find a suitable settings combination to be used here in Argentina, Kallio explained.

-We will work mainly with the rear shock, swing-arm length and weight distribution and balancing of the bike. We have a good plan we aim to execute during the three free practice sessions, so let’s see where it will take us, Kallio continued.

Kallio ensures that they are stronger and have preparations on a better level now, compared to the GP:s of Qatar and Austin.

-We learnt a lot from what we did in Austin and can say that we are getting better race by race. The most important thing would be to get a good start towards the weekend with a solid performance during the free practice sessions and make the most out of the preparations for the race. My feeling is good and I am 99% sure that we will do better this time, compared to the two first races of this year. The hard fact is, I am here to ride for the podiums and only them, so we need to find our way there as fast as possible, Kallio finished.
