Kallio goes all in for his last Moto2-race in Valencia

The season finale of the MotoGP-year of 2015 takes place in Valencia, Spain this weekend. The last race of the year doubles also as the last GP in Moto2-class for Finnish rider Mika Kallio, who is prepared to put all stakes at the table at the circuit of Ricardo Tormo.

-I have prepared for this weekend in the usual way, and there is no difference in effort, since I have participated to all races this season with maximum motivation. Even though there are no major stakes for this race compared to last season, I would appreciate a good performance, since I prefer to end this season on a good note to honour both my Moto2-career and my current team, QMMF, Kallio commented.

Technical preparations for the weekend are on full roll and it seems no dramatic changes are to be expected for Friday’s free practices.

-The bike has not been touched since it arrived from Malaysia and we plan to commence with similar settings as used during the previous GP. We have been going through the settings variations applied for me last year and also the alternatives the team’s other riders have used on this track. We will combine elements from both set-ups and see how the bike feels, Kallio continued.

The sold-out event of Valencia GP is a favourite among many riders, as the atmosphere is fully charged due to big crowds, who are packed tightly along the curves of the track.

-The track of Valencia is very familiar to all riders, as many tests are conducted here. I have had a tendency for good results on this track, but the actual track profile is not among my favourite ones. I do appreciate the cheering of the crowds and the feeling it brings, when the sides of the track are brimming with enthusiastic fans, Kallio described.

The rider is happy to move forward after the season finale and he awaits eagerly to get his hands on the new KTM factory MotoGP bike.

I am glad to have taken this decision to move to KTM, since I won’t be missing the tyre problems of this past season and I am excited to start the MotoGP test project soon. I believe my first test day will take place already at the end of this month, so no big break there, Kallio smiled.
